Booking & Cancellation Policy

A card is required to secure your appointment. Please arrive on time so you can receive the full experience of your scheduled service.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

If you’re running late, please let me know as soon as possible. Depending on the amount of time available, your service may need to be shortened or rescheduled.

I understand that things happen, and I’ll always do my best to work with you. Thank you for respecting my time and allowing me to give every client the best experience possible.

Privacy Policy

Estheticsxsjaé (Estheticsxsjae, LLC) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information this website collects, why, who helps me handle it, and the choices you have. In short: I only collect what I need to book and care for you, I never sell your information, and the site uses no advertising or tracking cookies.

What I collect

When you book:

Your name, phone number, and email (email is optional but recommended)
The services, date, and time you choose, and any note you add
Whether you'd like a text reminder

When you sign your waiver:

Your typed signature and the date and time you signed
The internet (IP) address and browser details of the device you signed on, kept as a record that you signed

If you fill out your skin profile:

Your skin type and concerns, allergies, medications, recent treatments, and current products
Whether you use retinoids, have taken Accutane in the past year, or are pregnant or breastfeeding

If you make an account:

Your email or mobile number, your name, and your preferences (like reminders and whether you want specials)

If you leave a review:

The name you give, your star rating, and what you write

If you pay online:

The amount paid or refunded and a payment reference from Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch or get stored on this website.

How I use it

To confirm, remind you about, reschedule, or cancel appointments
To give you a safe treatment that's right for your skin. Your skin profile and health details are used only for this, never for marketing.
To send aftercare tips after a visit, a review request, and a reminder when it's time to rebook
To send specials and newsletters, only if you've opted in
To keep the site secure, such as limiting repeated sign-in attempts
To keep the business records I'm required to keep

I never sell your information

I don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and I don't share it with anyone for their own marketing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties.

Services that help run this site

I use a few trusted services that handle your information only to provide their service to me:

Resend sends my emails (confirmations, reminders, sign-in codes, aftercare, and newsletters). They receive your email address and the message.
Twilio sends my text messages, if you choose texts. They receive your mobile number and the message.
Stripe processes online deposits and payments. They receive your payment details and, if you gave one, your email for a receipt. See stripe.com/privacy.
Cloudflare Turnstile checks for bots on the account sign-in page. It looks at your browser and IP address to tell people from bots.
Google Fonts provides the fonts on this site, so your browser connects to Google to load them, which shares your IP address with Google.

I may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of my clients, myself, or others.

Cookies and storage on your device

This site uses no advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies. It only uses cookies needed for signing in:

esj_client keeps you signed in to your client account, for up to 30 days or until you sign out.

The site also saves a few things in your browser's temporary storage, such as a booking you're in the middle of or that you closed the specials banner. These stay on your device and clear when you close the tab.

Texts and emails

Appointment texts and emails are about bookings you made.
Specials and newsletters are sent only if you opt in. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any text to stop texts, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
You can change your choices anytime from your account.

How long I keep information

Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes, and sign-in sessions end after 30 days (or when you sign out).
Unpaid online checkouts that are never completed are released and removed.
Appointment records, payment records, and signed waivers are kept as business records for as long as I need them for business, tax, insurance, and legal reasons.
If you delete your account, your account and skin profile are deleted. Past appointment records and signed waivers are kept as business records but are no longer linked to an account.

Your choices and rights

You can see and update your details, reminders, and marketing choices from your account.
You can delete your account anytime from your account page.
You can ask me for a copy of your information, or ask me to correct or delete it, by contacting me below. Some records, like signed waivers and payments, may need to be kept as described above.

Keeping it secure

The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, sign-in codes instead of shared passwords for client accounts, and limits on repeated sign-in attempts. Keys for the services above are stored encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian to book. This site isn't meant for children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If I change this policy, I'll update it here with a new date. Big changes will be pointed out on the website or by email.

Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of this website and to the services you book through it, offered by Estheticsxsjae, LLC, doing business as Estheticsxsjaé, in Birmingham, Alabama ("I", "me", "my"). By using this website, making an account, or booking an appointment, you agree to these terms, my Booking & Cancellation Policy, and my Privacy Policy. Please read them before booking.

Who can book

You must be at least 18 to book or make an account. Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian to book for them and to be present at their first visit.
Please book under your own name, with contact details that reach you.

My services

Services are provided by Sophie, a licensed esthetician. Esthetic services are cosmetic and are not medical treatment, and nothing on this website is medical advice. If you have a medical skin condition, please see a doctor.
Results vary from person to person and can't be guaranteed.
I may change, shorten, or decline a treatment if I believe it isn't safe or suitable for your skin.
You'll be asked to sign a waiver for each appointment. The waiver is a separate agreement between us.

Booking

A booking request isn't an appointment until I confirm it. You'll get a confirmation once I do.
Cancelling, rescheduling, running late, and no-shows are covered by my Booking & Cancellation Policy, which is part of these terms.

Prices and payment

Prices are listed on this website and may change. The price shown when you book is the price for that appointment, unless we agree to change your services.
Sale prices apply to appointments booked while the sale is running.
When online payment is offered, you may be asked to pay a deposit or the full price when you book. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; I never see or store your card number. Anything you pay online comes off your total.
If online payment isn't completed, your requested time isn't held.
If I decline your request, anything you paid online is refunded automatically. If you cancel, or if you don't show up, whether a payment is refunded follows my Booking & Cancellation Policy. Refunds go back to the card you used and can take 5 to 10 business days to appear.
If you think a charge is wrong, please contact me first so I can make it right.

Your account

You can book as a guest or make an account. Accounts sign in with a one-time code sent to your email or phone, so keep access to those safe and don't share your codes.
You're responsible for activity in your account. Let me know right away if you think someone else has used it.
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. I may close accounts that misuse the website.

Your responsibilities

Give accurate information when you book, in your skin profile, and on your waiver, and let me know if anything changes.
Tell me before your treatment about allergies, medications (including Accutane or retinoids), pregnancy, and recent treatments.
Follow the aftercare instructions I give you.

Reviews

If you leave a review, it must be honest, about your own experience, and free of anything offensive or private about others.
By leaving a review, you allow me to show it on this website with the name you give. Reviews appear only after I approve them, I may choose not to publish one, and I won't edit what you wrote.

Text messages

Estheticsxsjaé texts are appointment reminders and sign-in codes, plus specials if you separately opt in to them.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. You can also change your text preferences in your account.
Agreeing to texts isn't a condition of booking or buying anything.
Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
See my Privacy Policy for how your number is handled. Your mobile number is never shared with third parties for their marketing.

Emails

Booking emails, such as confirmations, reminders, aftercare, and review requests, are part of the service.
Specials and newsletters are sent only if you opt in, and every one has an unsubscribe link.

Using this website

Please don't misuse this website: don't try to access accounts or information that aren't yours, interfere with how it works, use automated tools to book or scrape it, or submit false bookings.
The photos, text, logo, and branding on this website belong to Estheticsxsjae, LLC and may not be copied without permission.
This website may link to other sites, like Instagram. I'm not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
I work to keep the website running and accurate, but it's provided as is and may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes.

Limits of responsibility

I take great care with every treatment. To the fullest extent the law allows, my total responsibility for any claim related to a service or to this website is limited to the amount you paid for that service.
I'm not responsible for reactions or results caused by information that wasn't disclosed, or by not following aftercare instructions.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that can't be limited under Alabama law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Jefferson County, Alabama, unless the law requires otherwise. I'd always rather talk things through first, so please reach out if something isn't right.

Other terms

If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
I may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page with its date, and the terms in effect when you book apply to that appointment.
